We are pleased to announce the opening of the call for abstracts & video.
Before submittinge, we invite you to read the submission instructions for an oral communication or an e-poster, or for a video.

Submission Invitation

We are pleased to invite you to submit your abstract to the 47th Annual International Congress of the European Hernia Society.
Abstracts must be submitted exclusively via the online platform.

Notification of acceptance/rejection Early March

Title of Presentation

Please choose a brief title that clearly indicates the content of the contribution. Avoid abbreviations in the title.
Abbreviations may be used in the text if they are defined when first used.

Principal Author

Name, email, institution, city, and country. In instances of multiple authorship, the person whose name is listed first is expected to deliver the presentation.

Co-authors

Their names, email, institution, country.

Please note that presenters of accepted abstracts are required to register to present their abstract.

Content of Abstract

The body of the abstract shall be concise with a maximum of 250 words. The abstract system will reject any submissions that exceed the 250-word limit.
Titles shall be as brief and concise as possible, but with enough detail to ensure a clear understanding of the study context.

An Abstract Must Include the Following Information

  • Aim: Clearly state the purpose.
  • Material & Methods: Clearly describe your selection of observations or experimental subjects.
  • Results: Results shall be presented in a logical sequence.
  • Conclusions: Emphasize new and important aspects, perhaps as a discussion section, along with corresponding conclusions.
  • All abbreviations must be defined in first use.
  • Avoid text in bold or italics.
  • Use single line spacing.
  • Statements such as, “results will be discussed” or “data will be presented,” will not be accepted.
  • Omit references and acknowledgements at the bottom of the abstract page.
  • There are three categories of presentations available – oral, video, or e-poster. Presentation slots are limited. Therefore, some abstracts may be re-allocated from oral to poster presentation.

Submission Guidelines

  • Abstracts are required for ALL oral presentations and e-posters
  • Abstracts shall be submitted by January 20th, 2025 (23:59 GMT)
  • Abstracts must be written in clear English
  • Final placement as an oral or e-poster presentation is subject to the discretion of the Scientific Committee
  • Please note, an abstract may be scheduled for presentation on any day of the conference
  • Abstract titles should be brief and reflect the content of the abstract
  • Ensure that your abstract is grammatically correct and free of typographical errors
  • Please check the presenting author when you type the author information online
  • If you do not receive an e-mail confirmation, it means we have no record of your submission. If you are sure that you made a submission, check the e-mail address that you used to make your submission
  • The presenting author will be underlined in the program and serve as the contact for further correspondence with authors
  • Withdrawal of abstracts will only be accepted if notification is provided to EHS Paris 2025 in writing, and subsequently confirmed by the Conference Secretariat. Withdrawal of an abstract is only possible up to 14 days after notification of acceptance
  • Generic names must be used for all references to products or companies. Brand names may be inserted as a reference at the bottom of the abstract page. Papers containing company names or brand names in the abstract text may be rejected. The Scientific Committee reserves the right to replace any brand name with a generic name without further notice

Submission Invitation

We are pleased to invite you to submit your video to 47th Annual International Congress of the European Hernia Society.
Video must be submitted exclusively via the online platform available in two steps.

  1. Send Your Video

    This step is necessary to initiate the submission process
    Start by sending your video file via SwissTransfer: Click here

    • Upload your video
    • In the Recipient field, enter the address: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
    • Click on Send

  2. Receive the Submission Link

    After sending your video via SwissTransfer, you will receive a unique link by email within 1 to 2 hours (weekdays only).
    This link includes access to your video hosted through a player.
    Please make sure to keep this link, as it will be required during your submission.

  3. Create Your Submission Space

    Follow the link to access the platform where you will create your submission space.
    This platform allows you to submit the summary of your video along with the link you received. No review will be possible for submissions made outside the platform. It is essential that you submit both your summary and link through the platform.

  4. Enter the Link in the Submission Field

    Once your submission space is set up, copy the link and paste it into the specified field on the submission form to finalize your entry.
    Following these steps carefully will ensure your video presentation is submitted successfully.

Video Presentation - Additional Information

  • If you are submitting a video presentation, please mention "EHS video" and your surname in the "Title" box.
  • The body of the video abstract shall be concise with a maximum of 100 words.
  • Provide a written summary outlining details of the operation you wish to demonstrate.
  • Upload a video file around 3–4 minutes long in readable format (.mp4, .mpeg, .mkv, .avi, .mov, .divx, .vob).
  • Submissions shall be reviewed based on abstract text and video.
  • Accepted presentations may be asked to upload the video again.
  • Videos uploaded for other types of abstract presentation (oral or poster) will be deleted and not assessed with the text abstract.
  • Video Max. size: 500 MB
