Faculty Guidelines

The EHS 2025 Congress is packed with multiple scientific sessions, discussing the wide variety of subjects around Hernia surgery.

During these sessions, different roles have been assigned. You can find hereby, the expectations from each role and the presentation guidelines, destined to each speaker.

We advise you to review these information before the Congress, in order to be fully aware and prepared, to participate in your designated session.

Speaker

The Speaker should present a dedicated topic during the allotted time and share insights relevant to the session theme.

Please find below the presentation guidelines for the Selected Abstract Authors:

 

  1. INSTRUCTIONS FOR PREPARING YOUR POWERPOINT 

Presentations will be in English only (no translation during sessions)

Slide 1: Session title, date and time, communication title, presenters' names
Slide 2: Declaration of conflicts of interest
Slides 3 & next: Your presentation

On-site computers will be PCs
Presentations should be prepared using Microsoft PowerPoint (PPT). 
Macintosh users should export their presentation to MS PowerPoint format or save it as a PDF.

File Format
On-site operating systems include Microsoft Office 365 and Windows 11. 
The following file formats are supported: *.ppt *.pps *.pptx *.ppsx *.pdf.
We advise you to save a copy in .pdf format

Videos
Please ensure that your video are included in your présentation and files compressed. 
We recommend using the *.mp4 forma: videos encoded with H.264 video and AAC audio.
Other supported file formats are .mpg, .wmv, .avi using codecs installed by default in Microsoft Windows 11. If you are using a different codec or video format, please check its functionality with the technician in the Preview room well in advance of your presentation.

Projection Format
The standard format in conference rooms is 16:9

Naming of your file
Presentation Date (YYYY-MM-DD)_ Your schedule_Last Name
For example: 2025-06-04_10:50_PASSOT

  1. ON SITE / ON THE DAY OF YOUR PRESENTATION 

Please note: It is not possible to connect your computer in the conference room.

You must submit your presentation in the preview room; a technical team will be on hand to assist you. 
Bring a copy of your presentation on a USB drive or hard disk.

We kindly request you
1. Deposit your presentation as soon as you arrive at the congress, or at the break before your session. 
At least 1 h00 before the start of the session.

2. Get to the conference room before it starts. This will give you time to meet the moderators and familiarise yourself with equipment location.
There's a computer at the desk, with the session programme. All you have to do is click on your name to start your presentation.
At the end of your slide show, click Esc to return to the session programme.

3. Sit in the front row of the room to get quick access to the lectern for your presentation


RESPECT OF ALLOCATED TIME 
1. Carefully note the allocated time for your presentation and ensure that the length of your speech does not exceed the allotted time by referring to the schedule of your intervention.

2. Session moderators are instructed to end presentations that exceed the scheduled time.

President

The role of a President during a session consists of introducing the session as well as the speaker. They will also monitor the session’s timeline.

Challenger

The Challenger is missioned to ask a question that will animate a new wave of debate.

Moderator

The role of a Moderator during a session consists of maintaining a dynamic and focused conversation.

The Moderator is also in charge of monitoring the session’s timeline, and has to be attentive to the speaking time of each speaker halting them when this time is exceeded.
